National Athlete Murdered by Drunk Driver, Re-Arrest Warrant Issued – Breaking News
The tragic accident that claimed the life of former National Basketball Player İlkan Karaman has resurfaced with recently released footage. The incident occurred five months ago in Datça, where Karaman was struck by a skidding car while waiting to cross the road. The driver, civil engineer Emre Ali Önder, was found to be under the influence of alcohol at the time of the accident, registering 119 promil. Önder initially fled the scene but was apprehended two hours later in front of Datça State Hospital.
Following his arrest, Önder was released on judicial control after the first hearing on January 10, despite facing a potential prison sentence of up to 9 years. However, the Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office later issued an arrest warrant for Önder, citing valid reasons for his re-arrest.
