National Statistical Committee Restricts Access to Unified Register Data
New Regulations on Data from Kyrgyzstan’s Unified State Register
As of January 1, 2025, the National Statistical Committee of Kyrgyzstan has implemented changes to the procedure for providing data from the Unified State Register of Statistical Units’ database. These changes primarily affect information on legal entities, individual entrepreneurs, and peasant farms, as reported by the Committee.
One of the key updates is the discontinuation of providing certain data upon user requests. This includes details such as the last name, first name, and patronymic of individual entrepreneurs, as well as the full or abbreviated names of legal entities. Additionally, data such as the general classifier of enterprises, organizations, and individual entrepreneurs (OKPO), legal address, and contact information like telephone numbers, faxes, and emails will no longer be accessible.
These restrictions have been introduced in accordance with Part 4 of Article 37 of the Law on Official Statistics, focusing on compliance with legislation regarding the protection of personal data. Information will only be available in cases specifically outlined in the document.
Previously, the National Statistical Committee provided such data despite the transfer of functions related to state registration of legal entities and entrepreneurs to justice authorities and the Tax Service. The new changes aim to enable the Committee to concentrate on its core tasks of collecting, analyzing, and publishing official statistics while adhering to personal data protection laws.
The Committee emphasized that these adjustments align with legislation aimed at safeguarding personal data and will enhance control over data distribution and usage. Moving forward, users seeking personalized information must now approach the justice authorities or the Tax Service for registration data like legal addresses and contact details.
