Turkish Weightlifters Shine at International Competition in Chisinau
The Turkish Weightlifting Federation has announced the successful completion of the fifth day of the international competition held in the capital city of Chisinau. Turkish athletes showcased their prowess and secured impressive results throughout the event.
In the women’s category, Bahar Kırat, a rising star in weightlifting, performed outstandingly in the 55 kg division. Kırat won three silver medals, with exceptional lifts of 72 kg in snatch, 91 kg in clean and jerk, and a total of 163 kg. Her remarkable achievements make her a force to be reckoned with in the sport.
Leyla Şanay, another talented athlete representing Turkey, earned a silver medal in the women’s division. Competing in the 78 kg weight class, Şanay demonstrated her strength and determination by lifting 139 kg in total, securing her place on the podium. Suna Türküsever, also competing in the same category, claimed the bronze medal with an impressive lift of 72 kg in clean and jerk.
In the men’s under-15 category, Sefkan Sümen showcased his incredible skills. Sümen triumphed with three bronze medals, lifting a total of 241 kg. His lifts included 73 kg in snatch and 131 kg in clean and jerk, highlighting his immense talent and dedication to the sport.
Collectively, Turkish weightlifters have amassed an impressive medal count over the course of five days. Their hard work and perseverance earned them a total of 26 medals, including 12 gold, 7 silver, and 7 bronze medals.
