Navoi Mining Farm Accused of Embezzling Electricity worth 24 Billion Soums

Illegal Use of Mining Devices Discovered in Karmana District

Uzenergoinspeksiya, a division under the Ministry of Energy, recently uncovered an illegal use of mining devices in an unfinished building in the Karmana district. The Ministry of Energy’s press service shared this information in a report.

The mining devices, which were found to belong to a citizen named R.E.I., had a total consumption of 840.4 kW. Shockingly, these devices were illegally connected to two transformers with a combined capacity of 630 kVA.

As a result of this discovery, a protocol was promptly issued, and a recalculated amount of 24 billion 415 million 300 thousand soums was determined. This serves as a sanction for the illegal activity. Additionally, the relevant authorities have prepared necessary documents and forwarded the case to law enforcement agencies for further investigation.

Illegal mining has become a growing concern worldwide, as it causes significant strain on electrical infrastructure and poses safety risks. Authorities are increasing efforts to combat such activities, ensuring the proper and legal use of mining devices.

The Ministry of Energy, in collaboration with other agencies, continues to monitor and crack down on instances of illegal mining across the country. Citizens are reminded to abide by the regulations and seek proper authorization for any mining operations they intend to undertake. Otherwise, serious consequences, both financially and legally, may ensue.

It is everyone’s responsibility to operate within the bounds of the law and to prioritize the well-being of communities and the integrity of infrastructure.
