Uzbekistan’s Centrum Air Launches Direct Flights from Baku to Tashkent
In a significant development for regional travel, Uzbekistan’s Centrum Air airline has launched direct flights on the Baku-Tashkent route, aiming to enhance transport connectivity between Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan. Teymur Hasanov, the Director of Heydar Aliyev International Airport, confirmed this expansion during a recent press briefing.
Hasanov expressed enthusiasm regarding the introduction of these direct flights, emphasizing that the entry of a new airline on this busy route is a testament to the growing demand for air travel between the two nations. He stated, "We welcome Centrum Air’s launch of operations at Heydar Aliyev International Airport. This development not only reflects increasing market interest but also strengthens the transport infrastructure between Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan. Expanding our route network is a strategic priority, and we are eager to foster further partnerships with international airlines."
The airlines commenced these regular flights on May 5, 2025, enhancing accessibility and convenience for travelers. Flights operate weekly on Mondays, utilizing the modern Airbus A320 aircraft, known for their comfort and reliability.
This new service is anticipated to significantly benefit both business and leisure travelers, further intertwining the relationship between Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan.
