New Electrical Cable Production Plant Opens in Chui Region

On July 5, 2024, the Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan, Akylbek Japarov, attended the opening ceremony of the Bek Kabel LLC plant in the Alamedin district of Chui region. This new plant is a significant step towards reducing Kyrgyzstan’s dependency on imported cable products, as emphasized by Japarov during the event.

In recent years, there has been a notable increase in demand for cable products in Kyrgyzstan, making the commissioning of this plant especially timely and important. Japarov highlighted that the prices of the plant’s products are lower compared to imported alternatives, further emphasizing the benefits of local production.

The Cabinet of Ministers has expressed its full support for domestic producers, with Aiyl Bank allocating $4.7 million towards the project, which had a total investment of $6.5 million. The plant is equipped with modern machinery capable of processing large quantities of aluminum, copper, and plastic, with an annual capacity of 60 tons, 30 tons, and 100 tons respectively.

The products manufactured at the plant are intended to meet the needs of the domestic market and are also targeted for export to countries within the Eurasian Economic Union. Currently, the plant has provided jobs for around 70 local residents, with expectations for increased employment opportunities in the future.

The establishment of the Bek Kabel LLC plant represents a significant milestone in boosting local production capabilities, reducing import dependency, and creating job opportunities for the people of Kyrgyzstan.
