New High-Voltage Substations Unveiled in Bishkek

Two new high-voltage substations launched in Bishkek

The Ministry of Energy of Kyrgyzstan has announced the launch of two new high-voltage substations in Bishkek, aimed at ensuring a stable power supply to the growing number of consumers in the city.

The Yntymak and Ak-Kula substations have been commissioned to meet the increasing demand for electricity in the capital. The Ak-Kula substation, located in the area of the old hippodrome, will provide electricity to residents of Rabochy Gorodok, part of Dzhal microdistrict, and the residential complexes under construction by the State Mortgage Company. It is equipped with a power transformer with a capacity of 16,000 kilovolt-amperes and modern equipment, along with a newly built 110-kilowatt power line, which will help relieve other substations and reduce electricity losses.

On the other hand, the Yntymak substation, situated in Orto-Sai village, now supplies electricity to residents of the southern districts of Bishkek and Orto-Sai village. The substation is equipped with a power transformer with a capacity of 10,000 kilovolt-amperes, new equipment, and the newly constructed power transmission line TEC B – Parkovaya-2.

Notably, both substations were constructed by the Bishkek Electric Networks enterprise without the involvement of contractors, showcasing the capabilities of local expertise in infrastructure development. The launch of these substations is a significant step towards meeting the energy needs of Bishkek’s growing population and ensuring a reliable power supply for residents.
