The Kyrgyz-Uzbek car assembly plant is set to begin operating in test mode on May 28, 2024, according to Minister of Economy and Commerce of Kyrgyzstan, Daniyar Amangeldiev. This new enterprise is located in the Sokuluk district of Chui region and will focus on producing Chevrolet, Daewoo, and Isuzu cars.
The collaboration that led to the establishment of this plant began in March 2023 when a cooperation agreement was signed between Uzavtosanoat JSC, DT Technik LLC, and NUR JSC (KR) for the production of automotive and commercial vehicles in Kyrgyzstan.
Furthermore, Minister Daniyar Amangeldiev shared that there are plans to launch a Kyrgyz-Chinese plant for the assembly of electric vehicles by the end of August. This move showcases the commitment to expanding the automotive industry in Kyrgyzstan and promoting sustainable transportation options.
With the opening of these new car assembly plants, Kyrgyzstan is positioning itself as a hub for automotive manufacturing and innovation in the region. Stay tuned for more updates as these projects progress towards full operation.
