Uzbekistan to Introduce Luxury Train Cruises, Boosting Tourism in the Country’s Historical Cities
Uzbekistan is set to develop the concept of railway cruises with the recent announcement of the launch of a luxury train, known as the Luxury Train Cruising, between the country’s historical cities. The memorandum for this new tourist train was signed by Uzbek Railways and the Italian company Arsenale Group, according to Podrobno.uz.
Scheduled to commence operations by the end of 2026, the luxurious train will run between various historical cities in Uzbekistan. This ambitious project is being implemented under the supervision of the Ministry of Investment, Industry, and Trade of Uzbekistan.
The CEO of the Italian company, Barletta, believes that rail cruises represent the future of tourism, offering a novel and environmentally-friendly way of traveling. Barletta stated, “Arsenale’s mission is to make this experience possible in the most exciting corners of the world, proving that there are no barriers that can stop the desire to explore new horizons. With the signing of this partnership, we are ready to work tirelessly so that travelers can board our train and discover the historical and cultural riches of this wonderful country.”
The introduction of the Luxury Train Cruising will be a significant event not only for Uzbekistan but also for the entire Central Asian region. The project is expected to attract tourists from around the globe, providing them with the opportunity to immerse themselves in the unique beauty of Uzbekistan’s historical cities, including Samarkand, Bukhara, and Khiva. The train will be equipped with state-of-the-art amenities to ensure maximum comfort for passengers throughout their journey.
Prior to this project, Barletta had also suggested the idea of launching a tourist train route from Europe through Uzbekistan to China.
The introduction of these railway cruises marks an exciting development in Uzbekistan’s tourism industry. It is anticipated to significantly boost the country’s appeal to travelers from all over the world, allowing them to explore the rich cultural and historical heritage of Uzbekistan. With this new venture, Uzbekistan aims to position itself as a premier tourist destination in Central Asia.
