New Modern Ballet Troupe Set to Debut at National Philharmonic Society
A new modern ballet troupe to be created in Kyrgyzstan
A new and exciting development is on the horizon in Kyrgyzstan, as a modern ballet troupe of 40 dancers with elements of both classical ballet and modern dance is set to be created for the first time in the country. This news was reported by the Ministry of Culture, Information, Sports and Youth Policy.
The ballet troupe will represent a unique synthesis of classical and modern dance, and will include talented young men and women between the ages of 18 and 25. The casting for this new troupe will take place on April 3-4 at the Bishkek Cholponbek Bazarbayev Choreographic School. The casting will be chaired by renowned Soviet and Russian choreographer Alla Dukhova, the founder and artistic director of the international ballet Todes, along with other famous choreographers.
Once formed, the newly created ballet troupe will become part of the staff at the Kyrgyz National Philharmonic Hall, named after Toktogul Satylganov. This will mark a historic moment for the arts in Kyrgyzstan, as it will be the first modern ballet troupe in the country.
