New Option for Businesses in Uzbekistan: Pay Utilities Online
Legal entities in Uzbekistan will now have more convenient options for paying for electricity and natural gas. Thanks to a new order issued by the Chairman of the Central Bank, corporate bank cards can now be used to make these utility payments through mobile applications.
This recent change allows legal entities to streamline their payment processes and make transactions in the national currency. The amendment to Clause 19 of the Regulation on the Issuance and Circulation of Bank Cards in Uzbekistan now includes the option for payments for electricity and natural gas via mobile applications.
Starting from July 1, all budgetary institutions and companies providing gas, petroleum products, or property leasing services are required to connect to electronic payment systems. Failure to do so may result in consequences, as refusing to accept electronic payments will be considered equivalent to rejecting payments via terminals and may lead to legal liabilities.
Overall, this update provides legal entities with more flexibility and convenience when it comes to managing their utility expenses. By integrating electronic payment options, businesses can now easily pay for electricity and gas through mobile applications using their corporate bank cards.
