Bishkek City Hall to Reopen Komsomolskoye Lake
Bishkek City Hall has announced plans to reopen Komsomolskoye lake, according to the municipality’s press service. The project, which began on June 2, involves mechanical cleaning of the lake, restoration of the existing sewerage system, and asphalting of the sidewalk around the lake.
“This work is essential to ensure the cleanliness and safety of the lake area. We are also working to enhance the overall aesthetics of the lake for the enjoyment of residents and visitors,” stated the City Hall.
The lake is expected to be reopened to the public in mid-July, after being last filled in 2020. The initiative to revitalize the lake is part of ongoing efforts to improve public spaces in Bishkek and provide recreational opportunities for the community.
