
New Title: Tax Hike Alert: Motor Vehicle Tax MTV Increased by 43.93%

The revaluation rate for taxes and fees that will impact millions of people has been determined at 43.93 percent, as published in the duplicate issue of the Official Gazette.
One of the significant changes is the increase in Motor Vehicle Tax (MTV) by 43.93 percent. In the new year, the lowest MTV will be 499 lira, while the highest will rise to 230 thousand liras. For vehicles with an engine capacity of less than 1,300 TL and a value exceeding 455,300 TL, the annual MTV for vehicles between 1-3 years old will be 5 thousand 803 lira. Similarly, for vehicles with an engine capacity between 1,300 and 1,600 and a value exceeding 455,000 liras, the annual MTV for vehicles between 1-3 years old will increase to 10 thousand 112 liras.
Passport and driving license fees have also seen a 43.93 percent increase. For instance, a 6-month passport will cost 2 thousand 359 liras, while a 10-year passport will cost 11 thousand 274 liras. Additionally, Class A driving license fee will increase to 1,883 lira, and Class B driving license fee will increase to 5,678 lira.
The 2025 tax brackets have been updated, with various percentages for different income levels. For example, 15 percent of the first slice of income up to 158 thousand liras, 20 percent of income up to 330 thousand liras, 27 percent from income up to 800 thousand liras, and 35 percent tax will be collected from income up to 4 million 300 thousand lira.
Furthermore, the special communication tax will be 570 lira in 2025.
These changes will have a significant impact on individuals and businesses alike, as they navigate the new tax and fee structures that have been put in place for the upcoming year.
