Kyrgyz-Chinese Center for Trade and Economic Cooperation Opens in Xi’an

On September 23, 2024, the Kyrgyz-Chinese Center for Trade and Economic Cooperation was inaugurated in Xi’an, Shaanxi Province. The opening ceremony was attended by Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan, Bakyt Torobaev, and the Governor of the province, Zhao Gang.

The center, spanning an area of 1,000 square meters, is designed for showcasing Kyrgyz products and hosting meetings with entrepreneurs. Additionally, a 200-square-meter Kyrgyz trade pavilion was unveiled, where products will be available for purchase both in-person and online through Douyin, WeChat, and Pingduoduo applications.

A business forum took place as part of the opening, with over 200 companies from Kyrgyzstan and Shaanxi participating. Discussions revolved around investments in various sectors including industry, tourism, transport, and agriculture.

Following the forum, multiple investment agreements were signed. Bakyt Torobaev also held a meeting with a representative from the Shaanxi Coal and Chemical Industry Group to explore potential collaborations in the mining and processing industries.

The establishment of the Kyrgyz-Chinese Center for Trade and Economic Cooperation aims to strengthen ties between Kyrgyzstan and China, promote trade opportunities, and boost economic cooperation between the two nations.
