New York Film Academy Expansion in Kazakhstan

ASTANA – The prestigious New York Film Academy (NYFA) has expanded its reach to Kazakhstan by establishing a branch in the country. This marks the third international campus for NYFA, making it the first world-class creative university in Kazakhstan.

The official online signing ceremony for this exciting collaboration took place on March 1 at the Energo University site. The event was attended by Minister of Science and Higher Education Sayasat Nurbek and NYFA President Michael Yang.

The inaugural academic year at the NYFA branch in Kazakhstan is set to commence on Sept. 29 at the Energo University Creative Industries Park located in Kaskelen, near Almaty. The program aims to enroll up to 200 students from Kazakhstan and surrounding countries such as China, India, and Russia.

The curriculum will be taught by experienced NYFA instructors from the United States and will cover five main disciplines including filmmaking, producing, screenwriting, animation and visual effects (3D animation & VFX), and game development (game design) through one-year and short-term programs.

Upon completion of their studies, graduates will be awarded an American university diploma, providing them with the opportunity to further their education in renowned cities like New York or Los Angeles, considering the coursework completed in Kazakhstan.

This partnership between NYFA and Kazakhstan’s Energo University aims to provide aspiring filmmakers and creatives in the region with access to top-tier education and opportunities in the global entertainment industry.
