Newly Constructed Apartments Required to Connect to Centralized Heating

Starting in 2025, all new multi-story buildings in Uzbekistan will be required to be connected to existing district boiler houses or have new separate boiler houses constructed. This decision was announced by the Ministry of Construction and Communal Services to Kun.uz, stating that a centralized trigeneration system will be used for heating and cooling in the multi-story buildings currently under construction in the New Tashkent area.
During a presidential selector meeting, it was highlighted that this year alone, 135,000 new multi-story apartments will be built with centralized heating, and cooking will be done using electric stoves. The Ministry further revealed that by 2025, the same number of new residential buildings across the country will also be connected to centralized heating systems.
Specific plans were outlined for different regions, including the construction of multi-story buildings with 120,000 apartments in the Republic of Karakalpakstan, various regions, and the city of Tashkent. An additional 15,000 apartments in the New Tashkent area will be part of this construction project.
In accordance with a presidential decree from December 2021, the development of the “New Uzbekistan” neighborhoods will involve the construction of multi-story residential buildings, infrastructure, social facilities, and more. Approximately 29,000 apartments in these neighborhoods will be provided with centralized heating.
Furthermore, the Ministry stated that the 15,000 apartment multi-story buildings in New Tashkent will utilize a centralized trigeneration system for heating and cooling. In regions with high housing demand, plans are in place to construct multi-story buildings with 91,000 apartments. Areas that can be connected to existing centralized boiler houses will have new buildings connected to receive centralized heating.
For buildings where connection to existing boiler houses is not feasible, separate boiler houses will be constructed to ensure heating requirements are met. These initiatives aim to improve energy efficiency and provide comfortable living conditions for residents in new multi-story buildings across Uzbekistan.
