Nicosia Hosts First Cyprus-Uzbekistan Business Association Meeting
The Cyprus-Uzbekistan Business Association was officially established during a visit by Uzbekistan’s Ambassador Abat Fayzullayev to Nicosia, the capital of Cyprus. The inaugural meeting of the association took place during the Ambassador’s visit, where he met with Stavros Stavrou, President of the Cyprus Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
Stavrou expressed his positive impressions from his visit to Uzbekistan in July, stating that there is significant potential for cooperation in trade and investment between the two countries. The establishment of the Cyprus-Uzbekistan Business Association was seen as a step towards realizing this potential.
Representatives from the Cyprus Chamber of Commerce and Industry and various companies participated in the founding meeting of the association. Ambassador Fayzullayev emphasized Uzbekistan’s ongoing reforms and its vast trade and investment opportunities. The official founding document of the association was approved during the meeting.
The primary goal of the newly formed association is to strengthen economic, financial, banking, trade, and tourism relations between Cyprus and Uzbekistan. It also aims to advocate for the interests of businesses from both countries, fostering a mutually beneficial relationship.
With the establishment of the Cyprus-Uzbekistan Business Association, both nations look forward to enhancing their cooperation and exploring new opportunities for economic growth and development.
