Nigeria eliminates 2,245 terrorists
The Director of Media Operations of the Nigerian Ministry of Defense, Edward Buba, has announced that significant operations have been carried out against Boko Haram and ISWAP in various states of the country between April and June.
During these operations, Buba reported that 2,245 terrorists have been neutralized. Additionally, a total of 1,993 individuals who were taken hostage for ransom have been rescued, and 2,783 weapons and ammunition belonging to the terrorists have been seized.
Nigeria has been facing a wave of attacks from Boko Haram, ISWAP, and armed gangs in different regions of the country. Despite the death penalty for kidnapping in Nigeria, the crime of kidnapping for ransom remains prevalent.
Armed groups often target villages, schools, and travelers in the northern part of the country, demanding ransom for their release. The government is working diligently to combat these threats and ensure the safety and security of its citizens.
