Night buses now in operation

Night buses are now operating in three public transport routes in the capital city, following feedback received from citizens. The night bus service started on June 20, 2024, with buses running in three directions: “Tavan shar – Officers’ Palace”, “Sukhbaatar Square – Niseh”, and “Zunjin Shopping Center – Sukhbaatar Square”.

The decision to introduce night buses came after changes were made to the working hours of the capital’s government and administrative institutions earlier this month. As a result, the timetable of public transport was adjusted, with buses now starting their service at 5:40 in the morning.

The night buses will operate from 22:00 to 02:00 and will cost 500 MNT, the same fare as daytime buses. The decision to continue running night buses will depend on the demand from passengers. Last year, night buses operated in six directions from 22:00 to 05:00 until October due to high demand.

Officials will monitor the usage of night buses to determine whether to extend the service beyond the current hours. This initiative aims to provide residents with a convenient and safe mode of transportation during late hours.
