Earthquake of Magnitude 3.5 Registered in Jalal-Abad Region
A magnitude 3.5 earthquake was recorded in the Jalal-Abad region tonight around 3:06 a.m., as reported by the Institute of Seismology of Kyrgyzstan.
The epicenter of the earthquake was located in the Takhtaly mountains, 7 kilometers southwest of Bor-Dobo village, 12 kilometers southeast of Ketmen-Tobo village, 13 kilometers southwest of Zhetigen village, and 15 kilometers southwest of Sargata village.
The strength of the tremors reached magnitude 3.5 in Bor-Dobo village and the surrounding areas.
This comes after a magnitude 5 earthquake was registered in the Osh region on March 12 at 9:11 a.m. The intensity of the tremors reached around magnitude 5 in Osh city and surrounding villages such as Shark, Tashtak, Kyzyl-Kyshtak, Nariman, and Kyrgyz-Chek. In Kara-Suu village, the magnitude reached 4.
As a result of these earthquakes, some residential buildings and social facilities were damaged. It is important for residents in these regions to stay alert and prepared for any potential aftershocks.
