“No Plans for Anti-Dumping Duty on Household Appliance Imports” – Uzeltekhsanoat

The government commission, chaired by Deputy PM Jamshid Khodjayev, has decided not to introduce anti-dumping duties on the import of foreign household appliances in Uzbekistan. The Uzeltekhsanoat Association confirmed that there are no plans to establish new duties following the results of their studies.
The decision comes after the protocol No. 118, issued on December 25, which instructed responsible organizations to develop proposals for the introduction of anti-dumping duties. However, following the study of the issue, it has been decided not to introduce the duty. Instead, tax benefits have been extended until January 1, 2027, with the condition that the funds are directed towards the creation of new production facilities and the modernization of existing facilities.
Other measures announced by the government commission include the provision of exchange rate hedging services to local electrical industry enterprises when exporting and reimbursement of transport costs when importing raw materials.
Furthermore, the Ministry of Economy and Finance has been tasked with allocating the necessary funds to provide additional support for enterprises in the electrical industry until January 1, 2027. Additionally, various tax rates have been reduced for electrical industry enterprises and entrepreneurs will be provided with loans for investment projects at a favorable rate for a period of 10 years.
It is important to note that an anti-dumping duty is an additional duty on imported goods that are imported at prices lower than the domestic prices of the producing country, and the decision not to introduce such duties reflects the findings of the government commission’s study on the matter.
