No Title Deed Problems for Island Residents: Ministerial Institution Announces 12 Good News
Turkish Minister of Environment and Urbanization, Murat Kurum, visited the Büyükada today. During his visit, Minister Kurum met with opposition parties and AK Party members at election stands, where he presented carnations to the party members. He also visited the Public Education Center and was welcomed by the Adalar Child and Youth Orchestra’s violin accompaniment. Afterward, he met with citizens at the Hacı Osman Var Mosque after the afternoon prayer.
During his speech, Minister Kurum stated that the Islands were the hidden treasures of Istanbul and that they came with good news. He added, “We have come to add value to our Islands, to serve our nation, to make new investments, to start new projects together, by joining hands and heart-to-heart with you!”
The Turkish Minister noted that the transformation he had started in Istanbul was the largest urbanization move in the world’s history. He underlined that the Half of Us campaign had received 533,000 independent department applications in Istanbul, stressing that the campaign aimed to transform 1.5 million houses and eliminate risky structures from the city.
Minister Kurum shared 12 good news items with the citizens of the Islands during his visit. He noted that title deed and property disputes had been resolved, and the Burgozada and Büyükada fishery areas had been removed. The government had also taken steps to improve education life by making schools resistant to disasters, building new primary schools, and supporting aquaculture.
Minister Kurum announced that the government had completed the process of handing over land to build a football pitch for the Heybeliada youth. The leasing processes of aquaculture cooperatives were also completed to facilitate the economic growth and employment of the Islands.
Finally, he stated that the government had solved the title deed problem that had existed for years on the Islands, and no additional construction would be allowed in the protected natural beauty and cultural areas. He said, “From now on, there will be no title problems in the Islands! We will have completely solved the problem!”
