Normal Ship Traffic Resumes in the Bosphorus – Latest News from Turkey
The BAUISC Spring Trophy 4th Stage Bosphorus and Buoy Race, organized by the Turkish Sailing Federation Presidency, recently took place under the coordination of the General Directorate of Coastal Safety.
During the event, two-way ship traffic in the Bosphorus was temporarily suspended to ensure the safety of the participating yachts. The closure took effect from 08.40 and lasted until 17.00, when the south-north direction was reopened for ship traffic.
Despite the temporary disruption, the race was a success, and participants are now gearing up for the next stage of the competition. Yacht races are scheduled to continue tomorrow in the Bosphorus, offering spectators and participants alike the chance to enjoy the thrill of competitive sailing in this iconic setting.
