Turkey’s TBMM President Numan Kurtulmuş Concludes Visit to TRNC and Sets Off to Azerbaijan

Numan Kurtulmuş, the President of the Turkish Grand National Assembly (TBMM), has wrapped up his official visit to the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) and is now heading to Azerbaijan. This visit marks Kurtulmuş’s first official overseas trip since assuming his position as the Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey.

Kurtulmuş and his delegation were bid farewell at Ercan Airport by Zorlu Töre, the President of the Assembly of the Republic, Metin Feyzioğlu, the Turkish Ambassador to Nicosia, Major General Zorlu Topaloğlu, the Commander of the Security Forces, and Major General Fethi Oltulu, the Acting Commander of the Turkish Cypriot Peace Forces and the 28th Division Commander.

During his visit, Kurtulmuş paid respects at Fazıl Küçük’s Mausoleum and the Oath Tomb of the Founding President Rauf Raif Denktaş. He also had meetings with President Ersin Tatar, President of the Assembly of the Republic Zorlu Töre, and Prime Minister Ünal Üstel. Additionally, Kurtulmuş visited the Bosphorus Martyrdom.

After completing his engagements in the TRNC, Kurtulmuş is set to continue his diplomatic journey by traveling to Azerbaijan. The purpose of his visit to Azerbaijan and the discussions that will be held are yet to be disclosed.

This visit highlights the importance Turkey places on fostering strong ties with its neighboring countries, demonstrating its commitment to regional cooperation and diplomacy.
