Obtaining a Residence Permit in Kyrgyzstan: A Guide for Foreigners
Kyrgyzstan Introduces New Procedures for Obtaining Residence Permits
In a recent announcement by Gulbarchyn Turdubaeva, chief specialist of the Migration Department at the Ministry of Digital Development, new procedures have been outlined for obtaining a residence permit in Kyrgyzstan.
Foreigners interested in obtaining a residence permit in the country must provide several key documents. If the applicant owns housing in Kyrgyzstan, they will need to provide documents for it, including a technical passport. In the absence of housing ownership, a notarized consent from the owner of the housing is required. However, if the owner is present during the submission of documents along with the foreigner, a notarized consent is not necessary.
The list of required documents includes an application in the established form, which can be filled out at a Public Service Center (PSC). Citizens of Russia and Kazakhstan can provide an internal passport, while citizens of other countries must present an international passport.
Additionally, applicants must provide evidence of legal income, a bank account number, and a certificate from their place of work confirming their income. Pensioners must also provide a pension certificate as a required document.
It is important to note that new rules for the stay of foreigners and stateless persons in Kyrgyzstan will come into effect from September 5. These regulations aim to streamline the process of obtaining residence permits and ensure compliance with legal requirements for foreign residents in the country.
