Officer-Sen Chairman Yalçın announces retirement plan changes
Memur-Sen Chairman Ali Yalçın recently spoke about various issues affecting civil servants during an interview with TRT Haber. Yalçın praised the successful transfer of 460,000 contracted employees to permanent cadres and acknowledged that additional indicators for civil servants had been included in the collective agreement.
He also discussed the upcoming August collective agreements and stressed the importance of wage justice in the public sector. Yalçın welcomed President Erdogan’s recent statement that the lowest civil servant salary would be increased to 22,000 TL, which will provide relief to many public sector workers.
Yalçın also mentioned concerns regarding pensions and retirement benefits, particularly for those who have retired with higher benefits close to the lowest band. He emphasized the need for a comprehensive solution and expressed gratitude for recent compensation payments of 3032 TL for employees affected by the Elazig and Malatya earthquakes.
Overall, Yalçın stated that Memur-Sen will continue to advocate for the rights and benefits of civil servants and work towards income justice in the public sector.
