
Official Gazette Circular on National Cyber Security Strategy and Action Plan

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has emphasized the importance of cyber security in a recent circular, highlighting the crucial role that information and communication technologies play in various sectors such as communication, transportation, energy, banking, finance, and health. The circular underlines that cyber security is integral to national security, especially with Turkey attracting the attention of cyber threat actors due to its geopolitical significance, economic structure, and technological advancements.
Turkey has been recognized as a leading country in the field of cyber security, thanks to the early measures taken to ensure national cyber security, the establishment of a national cyber security organization, and the continuous efforts to enhance capabilities in this area. The circular also mentions the National Cyber Security Strategy and Action Plans that have been developed for different periods, with the latest plan covering the years 2024-2028.
The new National Cyber Security Strategy (2024-2028) aims to build on Turkey’s existing position in cyber security and further strengthen collaboration between the public, private sector, non-governmental organizations, and universities. The strategy will be published on the official website of the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure, while the National Cyber Security Action Plan (2024-2028) will be shared with relevant institutions responsible for implementing various activities outlined in the plan.
All institutions and organizations involved in the National Cyber Security Strategy and Action Plan (2024-2028) are urged to diligently fulfill their duties and responsibilities to ensure the protection of Turkey’s cyber infrastructure and national security.
