Officials in Uzgen district arrested for selling land illegally

Three Individuals Detained in Kyrgyzstan for Illegal Land Transfer Scheme

The State Committee for National Security of Kyrgyzstan (SCNS) has made a significant breakthrough in a case involving the illegal transfer of state and municipal lands to private ownership. Three individuals, including the former head of Bash-Dobo rural administration in Uzgen district, have been detained in connection with the criminal activity.

According to reports from the SCNS, the former head of the rural administration, along with a lawyer and another accomplice, colluded to forge and backdate official documents in order to transfer land ownership. These forged documents were then submitted to various authorities for legalization, resulting in the improper transfer of 22 hectares of land from agricultural to settlement use in 2021.

The damage caused by this illegal scheme amounts to a staggering 829,200 million soms, as reported by the SCNS press center. The three individuals involved have been placed in pre-trial detention as the investigation continues.

The SCNS has vowed to pursue all individuals involved in this criminal activity and bring them to justice. The committee is currently conducting further investigative and operational measures to uncover any additional wrongdoing in relation to the illegal land transfer scheme.
