Oncology Center’s Chemotherapy Department Doctors Suspected of Corruption

In a recent report by the 24.kg news agency, it was revealed that employees of the State Committee for National Security of Kyrgyzstan (SCNS) uncovered a corruption scheme involving the illegal writing off of medicines for cancer patients. According to the press center of the SCNS, the head of the Chemotherapy Department of the National Center for Oncology and Hematology, a doctor from the same department, and the chief nurse were involved in this scheme.
The investigators discovered that the individuals involved in the scheme overestimated the amount of drugs written off, which they then sold for personal gain. As a result of these findings, all three individuals have been placed in the temporary detention facility of the SCNS as the investigation continues.
This revelation highlights the importance of combating corruption in the healthcare sector, especially when it comes to providing essential medicines for those in need.
