The New Gönyeli Police Station Opens Its Doors
The Gönyeli Police Station, which started serving the rapidly growing regions of Gönyeli and its surroundings on January 2, 2024, officially marked its opening today. The opening ceremony was attended by several prominent figures including Security Forces Commander Major General Osman Aytaç, Deputy Security Forces Commander Brigadier General Kadir Bayraklı, and General Director of Police Kasım Kuni.

Located to the north of the Police School Directorate building in Gönyeli – Yenikent, the Gönyeli Police Station will serve as the regional jurisdiction for Gönyeli, Yenikent, Alayköy, Kanlıköy, Yılmazköy, Türkeli, Gürpınar and İkidere.
The responsibility area of the police station spans from the Metehan Border Gate to the Metehan Circle, covering several key streets and intersections in the western parts of the Nicosia-Kyrenia Main Road.
