Azerbaijan International Cultural Center Opens in Lapta
The Azerbaijan International Cultural Center, established by the Azerbaijan-Cyprus Friendship Society, was inaugurated with a ceremony in Lapta. The event featured the unveiling of the bust of the National Leader of the Republic of Azerbaijan Heydar Aliyev and the “Azerbaijan in Our Hearts” photo exhibition, followed by a conference on the future of Turkey-Azerbaijan-TRNC relations.
The opening ceremony of the Azerbaijan International Cultural Center, led by the Azerbaijan-Cyprus Friendship Society, took place in the evening at 17:00. The event began with a moment of silence, followed by the singing of the National Anthem and the Azerbaijani National Anthem.
President Ersin Tatar, Parliament Speaker Zorlu Töre, Prime Minister Ünal Üstel, as well as officials from Azerbaijan, TRNC, and Turkey, attended the ceremony. The bust of Heydar Aliyev and the photo exhibition were unveiled, followed by a conference discussing the future of relations between the three countries.
Orhan Hasanoğlu, President of the Azerbaijan-Cyprus Friendship Society, expressed gratitude to the supporters and emphasized that the center was established without any state contribution. The importance of the center was also highlighted by officials from Azerbaijan and Turkey.
The Azerbaijan International Cultural Center includes various facilities such as a library, painting workshop, Robotic Coding and Research Center supported by TIKA, and more. The center aims to serve as a place for cultural exchange and gatherings for Turkish people.
