Organized Crime Member Arrested in Zhaiyl District
On June 22, 2024, in Bishkek, the 24.kg news agency reported that an active member of an organized crime group, who was wanted, was detained in Zhaiyl district. The regional police department’s press service disclosed the details of the case.
A local resident had contacted the police, informing them that a man had fraudulently obtained construction materials worth 455,820 soms and then disappeared. Following the report, a criminal case was initiated under the charge of “Fraud.”
The 49-year-old suspect, who had a history of multiple convictions and was known to be part of an organized crime group, was apprehended by police officers and taken to the police department. Despite being released on a recognizance not to leave, the suspect failed to appear for trial and was subsequently put on the wanted list.
On June 19, 2024, law enforcement officers located the suspect and placed him in a temporary detention facility. The investigation into the case is ongoing, and further developments are awaited. Anastasia KAN reported this news for the 24.kg news agency.
