Energy Minister Taalaibek Ibraev inspected the preparations for construction on June 28, stating that the design work for the Orto-Tokoi HPP has been completed. The project is set to be completed within two years.

A contract has been signed between Chakan HPP and the Chinese company CNHMC (China National Heavy Machinery Corporation) for the construction of a 21 MW hydropower plant on Orto-Tokoi reservoir. This partnership is crucial for addressing the country’s energy deficit.

The Minister of Energy emphasized the significance of the HPP construction and instructed the General Director of Chakan HPP JSC, Nurlan Sadykov, to ensure the event is conducted at a high level.
