Vendors at Bereke shopping center on Osh market also held a protest against the mandatory use of cash registers today. They gathered at the main entrance to the shopping center and demanded a meeting with management.
About 200 people gathered, all in opposition to the mandatory use of cash registers.
The head of Leninsky district administration, Zhyrgalbek Shakiev, and a representative of the Tax Service, Alen Turdumbetov, met with the protesters.
Sellers of markets have been holding rallies across the country since November 29. The day before, sellers of markets and shops in Kara-Balta city also protested. Vendors at Kara-Suu market in Osh region, Dordoi, Orto-Sai market, Madina, Alamedin market, Taatan, Aziz, and Chynar markets also held protests. Rallies took place in Osh, Talas, and Karakol. All entrepreneurs have the same requirements— to allow the use of licenses for trade and to abolish the mandatory use of cash registers.
