Osh resident to cycle to Astana for World Nomad Games
A resident of Osh will embark on a journey to Astana to participate in the World Nomad Games by bicycle, as reported by the City Hall’s press service.
Mamyt Tashtanov, a 74-year-old citizen, plans to ride 2,016 kilometers to reach Astana. He was bid farewell today at the central square of Osh city, with financial support from the City Hall and the office of the Presidential Envoy in the region.
The purpose of Tashtanov’s cycling tour is to promote friendship among the peoples of Turkic-speaking countries and to encourage participation in sports. Previously, two years ago, he also undertook a bicycle trip to Iznik, Turkey, for the IV World Nomad Games.
This year, the World Nomad Games are scheduled to take place from September 8 to September 13 in Astana. Over 2,000 athletes from 85 countries will participate in 21 different sports during the event.
The journey of Mamyt Tashtanov reflects a dedication to promoting cultural exchange and physical activity among different nations, further emphasizing the spirit of unity and camaraderie.
