The Kyrgyz Republic has officially signed the Statute of the Conference of High Courts among member countries of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS), marking a significant advancement in judicial collaboration. The signing, which took place in Turkey on May 7, was announced by the press service of the Supreme Court.
The conference gathered top judicial officials from Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkey, and Uzbekistan. Initiated by the Court of Cassation of the Republic of Turkey, this collaborative effort aims to foster mutual understanding and solidarity while facilitating the exchange of best practices within the realm of justice.
Established as a consultative body, the conference will oversee joint projects, research, and events designed to enhance the effectiveness of judicial proceedings. This includes the incorporation of modern digital solutions and artificial intelligence technologies to streamline processes.
The signing of the Statute sets a robust foundation for deepening cooperation among the Supreme Courts of OTS member states. It is anticipated to bolster the rule of law and elevate the standards of judicial protection for citizens’ rights within the shared Turkic legal framework.
Furthermore, the Statute lays out principles for interaction, outlines the conference’s structure, details the procedures for organizing events, and identifies key areas for collaborative activities. The next conference is scheduled to be held in the Republic of Kazakhstan in 2026, promising continued dialogue and coordination among Turkic-speaking nations.
