OTS Secretary General Optimistic for Peace Agreement between Baku and Yerevan

The Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS), Kubanychbek Omuraliyev, has expressed optimism for the potential signing of a peace agreement between Azerbaijan and Armenia. Emphasizing the importance of reaching consensus on all provisions of the deal, Omuraliyev highlighted the ongoing work on the peace treaty.

In an interview with a Report correspondent during the 4th Antalya Diplomacy Forum, Omuraliyev commended the significant progress made in the complete liberation of Azerbaijani territories from occupation. He reiterated that this achievement is not only crucial for Azerbaijan but also for the entire Turkic world, emphasizing the necessity of agreeing on all articles of the peace deal for long-term stability.

Addressing the issue of the Zangazur Corridor, Omuraliyev underscored its importance for the region, including Azerbaijan, Armenia, Iran, and other neighboring countries. He mentioned the potential of the Zangazur Corridor to enhance connectivity in the region and contribute to the development of the Middle Corridor. Previously considered an alternative route, the Zangazur Corridor is now viewed as an integral part of this strategic corridor.

As efforts continue towards the negotiation and finalization of the peace agreement, Omuraliyev’s remarks reflect the hope for a future of sustainable peace and cooperation in the region.
