At least 105 entities included in Kyrgyzstan’s single state register of tourism activities and resources
As of today, at least 105 entities have been included in Kyrgyzstan’s single state register of tourism activities and resources, according to the Department of Tourism. These entities range from hotels, hostels, guesthouses, and private entrepreneurs’ recreation centers to parks, natural sites like jailoo, lakes, and waterfalls, as well as cultural centers, municipal enterprises, and other facilities.
The register provides valuable information on each entity, including their area, type of tourism, development opportunities, and existing issues. For instance, some locations are in need of road and bridge repairs to enhance accessibility.
Kiyal Kenzhematova, Deputy Director of the Department of Tourism, highlighted that the register will be a valuable tool for both the country and tourists looking to visit Kyrgyzstan. It will allow businesses in the tourism sector to showcase themselves not only locally but also on an international scale, ultimately boosting the potential of the tourism industry.
The creation of the register took place in the fall of 2024. However, readers of 24.kg news agency expressed their frustration at not being able to access the document in the public domain. Officials explained this delay by citing ongoing modernization efforts on the Department of Tourism’s website.
It is important to note that the maintenance of a single state register is mandated by the Law on Tourism. Inclusion in the register is voluntary via notification, and updates are made as necessary to keep the information current and relevant.
