Over 450 Outdated Elevators to be Replaced by End of Year

The governor of Tashkent has taken a significant step towards improving safety and efficiency in the city by authorizing the replacement of 452 aging elevators. This project, which is scheduled to be completed by the end of the year, aims to enhance the overall living conditions for residents in multi-apartment buildings.

According to the press service of the city’s administration, the new elevators will be manufactured by the reputable OSTEN brand, located at the Technopark. Currently, Tashkent is home to 9,101 elevators, with 2,042 of them in need of replacement due to age-related issues.

By the end of 2025, 452 of these outdated elevators will be replaced, accounting for 22.1% of the total. The new elevators will not only meet modern safety standards but also offer improved energy efficiency, benefiting both residents and the environment.

In addition to the elevator replacement project, Governor Shavkat Umurzakov has also allocated 6 billion soms to address issues with the city’s drainage system. This initiative aims to mitigate problems such as flooding during heavy rains, ultimately enhancing the overall infrastructure of Tashkent.

Overall, these efforts underscore the governor’s commitment to enhancing the quality of life for residents in Tashkent and ensuring a safer and more efficient living environment for all.
