
Over 74,000 Foreign Nationals Seek Medical Treatment in Uzbekistan

An increase in Medical Tourism to Uzbekistan in 2024
Between January and August of 2024, a total of 74,700 foreign citizens arrived in Uzbekistan for medical treatment. This number represents a significant increase of 83.6% compared to the same period in the previous year, according to data from the Statistics Agency.
The highest number of medical tourists came from Tajikistan, with 57,380 individuals seeking medical care in Uzbekistan. Additionally, there were 8,542 individuals from Kazakhstan, 6,704 from Kyrgyzstan, 1,299 from Russia, 672 from Turkmenistan, 27 from Türkiye, 20 from Afghanistan, and 84 from other countries.
This rise in medical tourism to Uzbekistan highlights the increasing recognition of the country as a destination for high-quality healthcare services. With its modern healthcare facilities and expertise in various medical specialties, Uzbekistan is becoming a popular choice for foreign citizens seeking treatment abroad. The government’s efforts to improve the healthcare sector and attract international patients seem to be yielding positive results, as more individuals are choosing Uzbekistan for their medical needs.
As the trend of medical tourism continues to grow in Uzbekistan, it is expected that the country will welcome even more foreign patients in the coming years.
