Ozan Güven Sentenced to 11 Years in Prison Reduced to 6 Months
Actress Ozan Guven and her ex-lover Deniz Bulutsuz are currently involved in a legal case, facing charges of “deliberately wounding with a gun” and “deprivation of freedom” among other crimes. The trial is ongoing at the Istanbul 58th Criminal Court of First Instance, with Guven potentially facing a sentence of 11 years and 6 months, while Bulutsuz may be sentenced to up to 1 year in prison.
During the recent hearing, the defendant did not appear in court, with their lawyers representing them. The Public Prosecutor shared his opinion, recommending a sentence of 3 years 6 months to 6 years 6 months for Guven and acquitting him of the charge of “insulting” due to lack of evidence. On the other hand, Bulutsuz was recommended a sentence of 4 months to 1 year for the crime of “deliberately wounding in a way that can be resolved by a simple medical intervention.”
The lawyers requested additional time to prepare their defense against the prosecutor’s opinion, leading the court to postpone the hearing. The case stems from a complaint made by Deniz Bulutsuz against Ozan Guven, prompting an investigation by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office.
The indictments include charges of “insulting, threat, deprivation of freedom, and intentionally wounding” for Guven, potentially resulting in a sentence of 13 years 6 months. Meanwhile, Bulutsuz is faced with the charge of “simple wounding” and may be sentenced to 4 months to 1 year in prison. The legal proceedings will continue as both parties prepare their defenses against the prosecutor’s recommendations.
