
Özdenefe Welcomes Bar Association and Human Rights Association Members

Deputy Speaker of the Republic Assembly and Deputy Speaker of the Assembly, Fazilet Özdenefe, recently met with members of the Turkish Cypriot Bar Association and the Human Resources Association. The meeting, which took place at the Assembly of the Republic, included the presentation of a legislative study on ‘mobbing in the workplace’ as part of the EU-funded “Equal Rights Project for All”.
During the reception, KTBB President Hasan Esendağlı presented the draft on mobbing to Özdenefe, emphasizing the importance of addressing this issue through legislative measures. Özdenefe acknowledged the significance of increasing awareness about mobbing and implementing support mechanisms to protect individuals from such workplace harassment.
In their speeches, Deputy Solyalı and President Esendağlı expressed their commitment to supporting the legislative process and ensuring the enactment of necessary regulations to combat mobbing effectively. Asst. Assoc. Dr. Nurcan Gündüz highlighted the legal aspects of the project, including the evaluation of existing laws related to private sector employees’ rights and the development of a mobbing law draft.
Members of the delegation emphasized the need for legislative changes to address the pervasive issue of mobbing in various sectors. The delegation comprised representatives from the Turkish Cypriot Bar Association, the Nicosia Local Bar Association, the Human Resources Association, and other stakeholders involved in the project.
Overall, the meeting between Fazilet Özdenefe and the delegation underscored the importance of collaborative efforts in addressing workplace harassment and promoting a safe and inclusive working environment for all individuals.
