Özgür Çelik Elected as CHP Istanbul Provincial Chairman at 38th Ordinary Congress
The 38th Ordinary Provincial Congress of the Republican People’s Party (CHP) in Istanbul has come to a close. The congress, which took place at the Haliç Congress Center, saw the participation of party members from across the city.
Two candidates vied for the position of CHP Istanbul Provincial Chairman, namely Cemal Canpolat, the former chairman, and Özgür Çelik, the chairman of the Bahçelievler District. After a closely contested election, Çelik emerged as the victor, securing 342 votes, while Canpolat received 310 votes.
