Parties Continue Field Work Ahead of Local Elections
As the local elections draw near, political parties in Turkey are intensifying their efforts on the ground. The Republican People’s Party (CHP) Chairman, Özgür Özel, was actively involved in campaigning in Istanbul and Edirne.
Today, Özel participated in the grand opening ceremony of the Mustafa Necati Girls’ Dormitory, Support Education Course, and Planet Cafe Venus Social Facilities in Kartal, Istanbul. Following this event, he traveled to Edirne to attend a party rally in Keşan.
During the Keşan rally, Özel addressed the crowd from the election bus and took aim at President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. He criticized Erdoğan for engaging in constant slander and price hikes, particularly affecting farmers, producers, retirees, and workers.
Özel highlighted the economic challenges faced by the citizens, emphasizing the drastic price increase of essential items like olive oil and rice. He promised to hold the government accountable for these issues and urged the voters to consider these matters when casting their ballots on March 31.
In addition to his rally speeches, Özel inaugurated a new dormitory in Kartal that will house 478 female students. He emphasized the importance of providing accommodation for university students and praised the efforts of their municipalities in addressing this issue across Turkey.
Looking ahead to the elections, Özel expressed optimism about securing more social democratic mayors and increasing the number of municipalities under the CHP’s control. He vowed to lead the party to success in the upcoming elections and continue to work towards the party’s goals in its centennial year.
As the campaign heats up, political parties like the CHP are gearing up for a fierce battle in the local elections, with the hopes of gaining more ground and making a significant impact on the political landscape of Turkey.
