The Turkish Grand National Assembly has officially started its new legislative year with President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan in attendance. Deputies from various political parties stood up to welcome Erdoğan as he entered the General Assembly hall.

Özel also mentioned that some CHP deputies chose not to stand up during Erdoğan’s entrance, but clarified that it was not a group decision and those who didn’t want to comply were free to do so. He stressed the importance of normalization in politics and stated that taking steps towards a more democratic process is beneficial for both the party and the country.
