Tensions Rise as Pakistan Condemns Recent Indian Strikes
Islamabad, Pakistan — In a significant diplomatic response, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar addressed ambassadors in Islamabad regarding recent Indian military actions in Pakistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir. The strikes took place during the night of May 6-7, 2025, prompting strong condemnation from Islamabad.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) cited Dar’s remarks, emphasizing that the actions undertaken by India were a grave violation of Pakistan’s sovereignty and posed a serious threat to regional peace and stability. Dar asserted that these strikes contravened the principles established by the United Nations Charter and international law, as well as the norms that govern inter-state relations.
In his address, the Deputy Prime Minister dismissed India’s claims that the strikes targeted terrorist infrastructure, asserting there was no credible evidence linking Pakistan to any attacks, particularly referencing the recent Pahalgam incident. He accused Indian leadership of exploiting the narrative of terrorism to distract from its own accountability and international criticisms.
Dar highlighted that the Indian government had chosen to ignore persistent calls from the international community urging for de-escalation and restraint. He called on global leaders to hold India accountable for its "irresponsible and reckless conduct," asserting the need for a collaborative effort to ensure regional stability and peace.
