Bishkek – The highly anticipated reopening of Panfilov Park is scheduled for the upcoming May holidays. Mayor Aibek Dzhunushaliev announced this decision following numerous requests from local entrepreneurs, according to the municipality.
The administration of the park, known for being a popular recreational area for families, has been granted permission to operate for three months, provided they meet specific conditions. These include ensuring that all amusement rides comply with technical standards, improving the overall park facilities, and adhering to sanitary regulations.
This reopening comes on the heels of a serious incident that occurred on the evening of March 31, when a girl was injured after a ride malfunctioned due to a broken seat belt. The girl fell from the ride and was hospitalized in critical condition. In response, the Bishkek Municipal Inspectorate imposed a fine of 68,000 soms on the park’s administration, citing violations across six different articles.
As preparations for the May holidays begin, stakeholders are optimistic about providing a safe and enjoyable experience for visitors to Panfilov Park, as the community looks forward to the return of this cherished landmark.
