Panic in Alanya as Fire Breaks Out in Dump – Latest News from Turkey
Firefighters and emergency response teams quickly sprang into action when a fire broke out at a garbage dump site in Alanya. The incident occurred at around 12:00 on Ketenlik Street in the Toslak Neighborhood, causing a plume of smoke to rise into the air.
Residents in the area promptly alerted the 112 Emergency Call Center, prompting a rapid response from authorities. Two construction machines, four water tankers from the Alanya Municipality, and ten water trucks from the Alanya Forest Management Directorate were dispatched to the scene. Firefighting teams also arrived to contain the blaze.
The intense smoke generated by the burning waste materials caused initial panic among locals. The fire, which affected an area of around 10 acres, was eventually extinguished and brought under control thanks to the diligent efforts of the response teams.
An investigation has been launched to determine the cause of the fire. Authorities are working to ensure the safety of the area and prevent similar incidents in the future.
