Parliament Approves Pension Raise: Latest Türkiye News

The Turkish Grand National Assembly has approved a proposal to increase workers’ pensions to 49.25 percent and raise the minimum pension to 10 thousand TL. This decision will have a significant impact on retired workers, as the minimum pension has been increased from 7 thousand 500 lira to 10 thousand lira.
Additionally, the 6-month increase rate for SSK and Bağ-Kur pensions has been increased to 49.25 percent, effective from the January payment period. This means that retired civil servants will now receive equalized monthly increases in line with SSK and Bağ-Kur pensions.
Furthermore, the law includes provisions for minimum wage support, reducing the minimum number of premium payment days required for insured individuals to benefit from short-time working allowance, and continuing incentives for the employment of women, young people, and unemployed people with vocational qualification certificates.
The law has been sent to President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan for approval. Once approved and published in the Official Gazette, retirees can expect to see their January salary differences deposited into their accounts.
This decision represents a significant step towards supporting retired workers in Turkey and ensuring that they have a dignified and secure retirement.
