Parliament Committee Approves Prosecutor General’s Resignation

Bishkek, June 4, 2024 – The Committee on Constitutional Legislation, State Structure, Judicial, Legal Issues and Regulations of the Parliament of Kyrgyzstan has approved the resignation of Prosecutor General Kurmankul Zulushev.

During the session, the Permanent Representative of the President and the Cabinet of Ministers in the Parliament, Almasbek Abytov, presented the President’s proposal for the dismissal of Prosecutor General Kurmankul Zulushev based on the submitted resignation letter.

Kurmankul Zulushev voluntarily submitted his resignation letter to the President after being appointed to the position on October 21, 2020. This decision comes after President Sadyr Japarov reprimanded both Prosecutor General Kurmankul Zulushev and Minister of Natural Resources, Ecology and Technical Supervision Melis Turgunbaev.
